At Revolution Learning and Development Ltd we want to provide those who lead people with the skills and confidence to make a real difference in the organisations they work in through effective leadership training.
We understand that Leadership is a hard thing to describe, and because of this it can be quite difficult to understand exactly what leading and leadership is. We want to help to demystify this and allow leaders in a business to succeed with our Leadership Training.
We do this by helping leaders to understand what leadership is, what truly inspirational leadership looks like and the benefits effective leadership can bring.
Strong leadership is needed at all times in a business, whether it’s when dealing with under performance, coaching and mentoring others or managing a significant change in the business.
Our Leadership Training Solutions can focus on one or more areas of Leadership, depending on the needs of your business. These areas tend to be:
What is Leadership – Being very clear about what leadership is, how it differs to management and when leadership should be used.
Communication – Developing an understanding of Eric Berne’s Transactional Analysis theory, we investigate how understanding the Parent, Adult and Child ego states can help improve communication with people. We also look at working styles and how these drive communication styles, leadership styles and relationships.
Feedback – By using the simplistic SBI framework for providing effective feedback, we aim to allow people to provide clear, structured and detailed feedback to individuals and teams that drive change in attitude and behaviour.
Coaching – Being able to use coaching effectively will allow leaders to drive change in attitude and behaviour, improve performance, motivate and encourage skills development in their team members.
Time Management – Using a mix of a simple planning tool, Stephen Covey’s Urgent/Important Matrix and John Adair’s Action Centred Leadership model, we aim to help leaders to identify where their time is wasted, how to plan tasks, deal with procrastination and find the time to spend time developing the team rather than fire fighting.
Delegation – Add delegation to time management and you have another strategy for effective time management; however, we aim to increase the understanding that leaders need to delegate not only as a time management strategy, but as a development tool. We’ve developed a questionnaire to help leaders to understand their preferred delegation style and we aim to find out what the barriers are to effective delegation.
Managing Performance – Knowing what to do when performance standards have dropped is essential for any leader. We look at a range of strategies to deal with under-performance, including how to have effective performance discussions.
Motivation – We use Dean Spitzers 8 Desires of Motivation to underpin the understanding of what motivates others. We’ve developed a questionnaire to help find out which of the 8 desires motive attendees and this can be taken away and used with team members.
Managing Change – Change is inevitable in today’s business environments and leaders need the ability to manage and support change effectively. We look at the Kubler-Ross Change Curve to help leaders see the impact that change can have on team members, and how leaders can effectively manage each stage of change to get from instigating change to embedding change as soon as possible.
All of the above subjects can be delivered as an intensive course looking at the specific subject, a pick and mix of subjects or all subjects over an agreed period of time (a 3 day course is recommended).
We will work with you to understand the changes you want to see as a result of any leadership training your wish to carry out and build a programme especially to meet those needs.
We will agree a set of leadership training programme objectives and build a programme to achieve them. We will also produce training reference materials for delegates to take away as a reminder of the skills they learnt on their leadership training programme.
All of our leadership training programmes come with ‘fun included’ as standard. We will ensure that any leadership training we deliver for you is highly experiential, meaning those who attend get ample opportunity to practice the skills, get some feedback and are ready to go back and implement their new skills on return.
